Tips & Tricks
- Softening Butter: If your butter is not soft, you can microwave it for 10-15 seconds. It should be soft but not melted.
- Mixing: Be careful not to over mix the dough. Mix until the ingredients are just combined for a tender cookie.
- Baking Time: Keep an eye on the cookie as it bakes. It can go from perfect to over baked quickly. It’s done when the edges are golden and the center is slightly undercooked.
- Give the cookies a scoot. For perfectly round cookies, use a large round cutter or an upside-down glass jar to “scoot” the edges of the cookie straight out of the oven.
- Cooling: Let the cookie cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring it to a cooling rack. This helps it set and prevents it from breaking.
- Customize: Feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon, a sprinkle of sea salt on top, or even some nuts for a different flavor profile.
