- Chewy and Buttery: These festive blondies are rich, chewy, and have a perfect balance of sweetness.
- Customizable: Add your favorite holiday-themed sprinkles, nuts, or chocolate chips to make them your own.
Ingredient Notes
- Unsalted Butter: Melted butter gives these blondies a rich, chewy texture. For a deeper flavor, you can use browned butter.
- Sugars: The combination of brown and granulated sugar adds chewiness and a slight caramel-like flavor.
- Holiday m&m: Festive red and green chocolate candies add color and holiday spirit. You can also use holiday sprinkles or swap in M&Ms.
- White Chocolate Chips: These add sweetness and look great with the holiday colors. You can use regular white chocolate chips or even chopped up white chocolate bars.
- Holiday Sprinkles: Optional here they add a wonderful crunch and festive look to these blondies.
- Brown sugar- Brown sugar adds sweetness and moisture, helping to create a soft, chewy blondie with a deep, caramel-like flavor.I used light brown sugar however you can use dark brown sugar as well.
- Egg- I like to use a room temperature large egg. To quickly bring your egg up to the right temperature, place the whole egg (in the shell) into a small dish and fill it with hot water (not boiling hot). Let it sit for about 15 minutes and then your egg should be ready to crack in to the dough.
- Vanilla extract: Adds warmth and depth to the flavor of the bars.
- Salt: Balances the sweetness and enhances the flavors.
